Hollywood stars are talking aganist the producer Harvey Weinstein after his numerous allegations of sexual harassment. Since the filmmaker was no longer president of the Weinstein film company, actresses like Meryl Streep or Jennifer Lawrence have reacted to his “unforgivable” behavior while supporting women who have decided to talk.
Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle expressed disgust at this scandal, where Italians Azia d’Argento, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie have accused the producer of sexual harassment and even rape. In a joint statement Barack and Michelle Obama say that any person who hurt women in this way deserves to be punished regardless of his status. Appealing that the courage of women who publicly accused the harassment is to be appreciated, the couple wants Obama to be taught respect so that such events are not repeated.
The first was The New Yorker magazine, which reported that Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has sexually harassed 13 women, three of whom said they raped. The plaintiff quoted in The New Yorker, said she had not discovered the case for 20 years, fearing that Weinstein could harm him. According to the magazine, police had started a conversation to Weinstein with an Italian woman in a hotel corridor in March 2015. But, in this case, the authorities decide not to drop any charges.
